The Granary room is light, bright, beautiful and our favourite place to get married
The Mill is fully licensed to have registrar’s legal weddings onsite – either inside or outside. We don’t charge extra for couples wanting to have their ceremony here. The Mill is your venue for the day so you decide what you want to do and where you want to do it. And most importantly here you have the flexibility to decide what time you want to get married. You can have an early wedding if you want to get the most out of the day or a later ceremony if you prefer a relaxed morning getting ready.
And for anyone wanting a traditional church wedding, we are not only blessed with a beautiful village church which overlooks the Mill, but also a very welcoming vicar who is thrilled to marry couples – even if you aren’t part of our parish. Your guests will be able to park at the Mill, wander a short way up to the church and then back to your reception at the Mill – without the hassle of needing to collect cars and drive to another venue.
Alternatively, Humanist weddings at the Mill have been becoming more and more popular. Don’t worry – we didn’t know what one was either! They are non-religious, much like a civil wedding, but unlike a civil wedding these are designed around you. With a Humanist wedding you would need to do the ‘legal’ bit either at a registrar office or here before your ceremony.
Outside ceremonies are available from 1st April to the 30th October. There is no additional fee to use the outside ceremony area – so you don’t need to book it in advance and as no one seems to be able to predict the British weather, you only need to make your decision to have an outside ceremony the night before!

Civil Ceremonies
Hampshire Registrars perform our civil ceremonies and we have two rooms licensed for your ceremony. The Boat Room on the ground floor is perfect for smaller weddings (approx. 25 people). The Granary Room on the second floor can seat 100 and is the room we call our ‘Ceremony Room’. We also have our beautiful outside ceremony terrace flanked on both sides by the Avon River and backdropped by views of our gorgeous water meadows.
Weather dependent, this is available from 1st April until the 15th October. As it is permanently set up during this time you don’t have to make the choice for an outside wedding years in advance. Have a look at the weather the day before you wedding and if it is a lovely day go ‘al fresco’
